I Conference of the Cuidativos Foundation
Cristina Monforte participated in the I Conference of the Cuidativos Foundation, delivering the closing lecture titled “Alleviating Suffering in Patients with Advanced Illness.” The event took place in the auditorium of the Moneo Building in Murcia on October 10. Jacinto Bátiz opened the conference with a talk titled “Towards a Palliative Culture.” Cristina Monforte closed the conference by presenting the research work carried out by the WeCare Chair to alleviate suffering, especially when that suffering can be extreme and turns into a wish to hasten death. To address this, systematizing the evaluation of patients in palliative care can be key to treating and preventing the suffering of both patients and their families. Cristina Monforte thanked the Cuidativos Foundation for participating in the conference and congratulated the initiative to create this new foundation aimed at promoting and supporting palliative care in the Murcia region.
