Last Saturday, April 5th, Cristina Monforte participated as a guest speaker at the training session organized by the Argentine Association of Palliative Medicine and Care (aamycp), titled “The Desire to Hasten Death.” The board of directors organized the session for all its members. Dr. Monforte was the main guest and delivered a lecture titled “Conceptualization of the Desire to Hasten Death and Related Factors.” In addition, she took part in the discussion of a clinical case presented by Perla Cano, an alumna of the ERDAM course, and Ximena Arriola. The session concluded with a debate led by three psychologists, who discussed the importance of palliative care in addressing the suffering of patients with advanced illness.
135 members of aamycp took part in the three-hour session on Saturday morning. The debate sparked significant interest among attendees.
