WeCare directors, Cristina Monforte and Joaquim Julià, took part in the 5th Congress of the Uruguayan Society of Palliative Care, held from May 22 to 24. Monforte and Julià were invited speakers in a roundtable discussion on the Desire to Hasten Death (DHD), where they spoke about the contextualization, definition, and epidemiology of DHD, and its clinical approach, respectively. The roundtable also featured data from a study on knowledge about DHD promoted by the Uruguayan Society of Palliative Care, which highlights the current level of understanding and skills of Uruguayan professionals in addressing DHD.
WeCare collaborates with the Sociedad Uruguaya de Cuidados Paliativos to promote research projects in the South American country, as well as to support the training of its professionals.
