The WeCare Chair (UIC Barcelona) was represented at the meeting by its directors, Cristina Monforte and Joaquim Julià, together with Iris Crespo.
Universities and leading palliative care centers across Spain have agreed to establish the Network of Palliative Care Chairs and Research Centers, an academic alliance designed to strengthen research, education, and institutional collaboration for high‑quality palliative care.
Meeting objective
The second meeting, held at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zaragoza, aimed to set the groundwork for cooperation among institutions and to define a shared roadmap to advance collaborative research, exchange best practices, and promote teaching excellence. The founding statement also highlights the importance of recognizing Palliative Medicine (ACE) and reinforcing its presence across health sciences curricula.
