This month we launched the 7th edition of the course Assessment and Response to the Wish to Hasten Death (ERDAM), with 18 students from several countries. This online program, led by the WeCare Chair (Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences – UIC Barcelona), trains professionals to explore, assess, and address the wish to hasten death (WTHD). The learning pathway includes applied exercises and a final assessment to certify competencies.
Throughout the course we cover:
- Early detection of WTHD and meaningful clinical responses.
- Theoretical foundations on the factors underlying WTHD.
- Communication skills for complex conversations (assessment and response to the wish to die).
- Legal and ethical frameworks related to these situations.
