In 2020, the XIII edition of ‘Jornadas Àltima’ for professionals intends to treat the approach of decisions at the end of life. It will take place in a webinar format on Friday, October 23, and on Friday, October 6 at 10h CET, and will gather together experts of the health area, who work both with the WeCare Chair at UIC and with the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO).
Dr. Christian Villavicencio will be the protagonist of these Jornadas and will be on stage with his report under the title ‘Ethical-Clinical decision making’, directed mostly to healthcare professionals in the residential and social-sanitary field. The talk will comprise of two sessions, and at each will treat the following:
Principles of decision-making: ethical aspects in the integral attention of the fragile patient and role of the family in the decision-making, main roads and tools of communication. – October 23
Decision-making methodology (Dodecahedron- Anticipated planning ): learning to plan. Frequent conflicts in decision-making / role play. – November 6
Dr. Christian Villavicencio is a geriatrist. Màster in Palliative Cures and doctor at Sciences of the Health. The medical director of the Foundation Caredoctors and doctor at sciences and coordinator of Palliative Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of the International University of Catalonia (UIC).
The webinar of the XIII Jornadas Áltima for professionals will be in charge of:

· Dr. Josep Porta-Rooms, MD, PhD, director of the Chair WeCare: Attention at the end of the life, at the International University of Catalonia (UIC)
