On April 30th, 2021, Dr. Denise Pergolizzi, psychologist and member of the research group “WeCare Chair”, gave a conference on the “Needs assessment in palliative care patients” at the National Cancer Institute (INCan) of Mexico. Dr. Pergolizzi, in her presentation, shared the advances in the research that she is carrying out in the context of a competitive project led by the WeCare Chair. The presentation focused on the needs presented by patients in the field of palliative care, from needs that refer to the physical dimension to psycho-emotional, social, and spiritual needs. The Dr. concluded by highlighting the importance of “always caring, until the end”.
Since 2019, the WeCare Chair has collaborated with INCan palliative care researchers in Mexico, through a great commitment to teaching and scientific rigor, in a project on the care of patients who express “the desire to die.”
