On 3 May 2022, WeCare Chair: End-of-Life Care held an online workshop as part of a funded project by the FIS PI19/1901 ‘Implementation of a systematic assessment of multidimensional needs in Palliative Care: Multicentred Feasibility Study’.
The main purpose of the workshop was to present the results of the first phase of the project, in which the team elaborated a systematic guide, called ‘MAP’, based on necessary requirements for first palliative care encounters.
It is a clinical interview guide that will deliver key information on the individualised and therapeutic plan of each patient. It was designed using a nominal group along with the Delphi technique and the help of experts in the palliative care (PC) field.
In this workshop, the experts also agreed on the criteria for the feasibility study of this guide, which will be carried out in the following month as the final stage of the FIS Project.
‘MAP’ consists of 46 needs grouped into 6 evaluation criteria:

Emotional or psycho-emotional issues

Spiritual and existential concerns
The workshop was led by the WeCare Chair research team: End of Life Care, with Dr Albert Balaguer as project PI, Dr Cristina Monforte, Dr Joaquim Julià, Dr Iris Crespo, Dr Denise Pergolizzi, Dr Andrea Rodríguez, Ms Blanca Goñi and Ms Raquel Olaya.
