On Friday, November 21, the WeCare Chair dedicated an entire day to team work: pausing the daily routine to reflect as a team, strengthen bonds, and, above all, think together about how we can generate more impact in the future of palliative care.
The day began with a thorough review of all the impacts we have had as a team so far. We analyzed our achievements, the challenges overcome, and the lessons learned, an exercise that allowed us to appreciate the progress made and identify areas for improvement.

Then, we divided into groups to carry out strategic planning focused on improving in the field of palliative care. Each person, from their discipline —nursing, medicine, psychology, philosophy…—, contributed unique perspectives to enrich the discussion. This diversity, which is our strength, facilitated deep and creative discussions, always with a common goal: improving care for people with advanced illness and their caregivers, through research and practice.

After lunch, we shared all the ideas and prioritized the key points to start working on. We defined concrete actions, assigned roles, and set deadlines, all with a clear intention of collaboration and synergy.
We left this meeting with greater team cohesion, shared enthusiasm, and a list of actions to keep moving forward. The future of palliative care is built as a team, and this day is a great example.
