On 29 and 30 October 2021, Dr Cristina Monforte and Dr Josep Porta, both directors of the WeCare Chair (UIC Barcelona), participated as speakers at the XIV Summer Course “Teaching and Research in Bioethics” organised by the University of Zaragoza Chair of Professionalism and Clinical Ethics, along with the Organisation of Medical Colleges and the Zaragoza College of Physicians.
There was a total attendance of 200 participants at the course, including doctors, nurses and students from both disciplines. It took place in the Assembly Hall of the Official College of Physicians of Zaragoza and was simultaneously shared on their YouTube channel.
Dr Monforte presented the paper ‘The desire to hasten death in international literature’, and Dr Josep Porta gave a presentation titled ‘What should we learn to diagnose and treat the desire to hasten death?’.
In addition, both carried out a face-to-face workshop with 20 participants: ‘Workshop for students on addressing the desire to hasten death’.
