The Annual Medical Meeting (RAM) of the National Cancer Institute of Mexico (INCAN) is an event that closes the academic year of the INCan, which is aimed at both health personnel (infirmary, medicine, social work, nutrition, etc.) and students in these health fields. During the 38th edition, the WeCare Chair had a 45-minute space to share its knowledge of “the wish to hasten death”.
In line with their interdisciplinarity, the Chair organized two lectures from various approaches. The first, “The desire to advance death from the perspective of patients with advanced diseases” was made by Dr. Andrea Rodríguez-Prat (Graduated in Humanities). The second paper was titled “The desire to advance death in patients with advanced illness: evaluation and boarding”, and was presented by Dr. Cristina Monforte-Royo (Nurse and WeCare Director). The round table was moderated by the psychiatrist Dr. Oscar Raúl Rodríguez Mayoral (Mexico) of Palliative Care of the INCan, who collaborated with the Chair on a project on this same subject.
The Chair welcomes the invitation to this new edition of the annual INCan Meeting by Dr. Rodr Rodríguezguez Mayoral, a collaborator of WeCare and a member of the Task Force “Wish To Hasten Death (WTHD) in Patients with Life-Threatening Illnesses: A clinic Issue”.
