Last Friday, November 10, the XVI Áltima Conference for professionals was held with great success at the ONCE auditorium in Barcelona. This event, dedicated to Palliative Care, was organized by Áltima in collaboration with the WeCare Chair, providing an enriching space where participants could delve into the ethical principles that guide their professional practice.
The day began with a warm welcome, followed by the intervention of Dr. Pilar Fuster, nurse and Vice-Dean of Nursing at the UIC, as well as Dr. Marisa Martín, nurse and professor in the Department of Nursing at the UIC, under the title “Caring for people by caring for stories”.
The day continued with the participation of Dr. Iris Crespo, psychologist and professor of psychology at the UIC. Through her presentation, entitled “Caring for people promoting the meaning of life”, she shared her reflections on the meaning of life and positive psychology.
The last session of the day was led by Rubén Llop, founding partner of the Institute for Transformational Leadership and president of the IFTL Foundation. With the reflective question “Who am I? What is my task?”, he invited attendees to reflect on their identity and purpose in the field of palliative care.
This Altima Conference, in collaboration with the WeCare Chair, highlighted the importance of ethics in professional practice and reaffirmed the commitment of professionals to the continuous improvement of palliative care for the benefit of those who need it most.
